The Journey Behind Starting My E-Commerce Business: Viral Findings
Share
Starting my online t-shirt business journey was something that came to me out of the need to work from home. I have always loved photography and colorful designs on clothing, and it seemed like a good idea to create my own brand, with fun designs, cartoons, sarcasm, special occasions, holidays, etc. At the moment we are in politics and Donald Trump is our design for the season, sorry if it is not to your liking.
I researched for over a year, watched many tutorials, read several books and why not to mention that I bought some courses, courses that confused me more than I was. Many online courses were a great source of information, but I don't think they go into depth about what is really needed to enter the world of online sales. From watching those courses or paying for them, you have to be resourceful in order to be successful. Keep in mind that many of those courses are just to fill the pockets of those who teach them.
I didn’t know where to start, I didn’t know what I wanted: Amazon Associates, Amazon Influencer, Amazon Affiliate Program, Amazon pallets, Amazon FBA, affiliate marketing, drop shipping, Print on demand, in short, I was lost and overwhelmed… There was so much information that I couldn’t process, that I ended up enrolling in school to study digital marketing… There I knew that I wanted to be different, that I wanted to create funny t-shirts, that I wanted to take care of my clients, my website, my inventory, 100% of my profits, my designs, and my personalized packaging. If you choose any of the mentioned before business models, you only earn a percentage, you don’t know the quality of the product when the supplier runs out of inventory, you lose contact with your client, and your client loses contact with your brand since you are not the one sending the product. Packaging customization is one of the most important points when selling your merchandise, as is the quality of the product.
I hope you find my designs fun, that they look good and that they are of good quality. That is why I created my online store and immersed myself in the challenges of building a brand. It has not been easy, but it is possible. I opened a corporation, I looked for operating licenses, I looked for my suppliers, the best brands and cartoonists. I had my problems when it came to making the website, but I succeeded and in the end I looked for help to make integrations that were impossible for me to do.
I want people to identify with my t-shirts, to like wearing them, to be reminded of other people, to give them to friends, because they really are funny.
If you haven't started bringing your ideas to life yet, do it. The road is not easy, but you have to persevere and be consistent in everything you do.
The time is now!
